Tendon surgery

Tendons of the foot can become inflamed and damaged. This is often referred to as tendinopathy. The tendon can sometimes be operated on and debrided (cleaned up) to allow a return to normal function. In other instances, the foot's bone structure needs to be addressed either through orthotic therapy or sometimes surgery. The tendon often becomes diseased because of mal-alignment of the foot and if this is not addressed then recurrence is more likely to take place.
